The O scale layout is fully decorated and depicts a fictional Florida town that we happen to call Sarasota because, like Sarasota, it has a beach, a circus, an airport and palm trees. It is 3-rail because it is rather small, 8×20 feet, however small 2-rail engines may be run on the outside track. Train control is via Lionel TMCC and Legacy platforms. There are five separate track blocks that can be connected to the power sources via wired plugs. For the kids several operating accessories are activated via doorbell buttons. Atlas O track and switches are used throughout. We are in the process of replacing the Atlas switch motors because they have proven unreliable. Seaboard and Atlantic Coastline trains are prevalent but the occasional Legacy Big Boy makes an appearance.
